Clara clicked on Send’ and closed her laptop. She did not believe for one second the claim by the manufacturer whose logo she had covered with a sticker stolen from the Bundaberg Aeroclub when she gave a lecture there called The Art of Dying, that its precision unibody enclosure was actually milled from a single extruded block of aluminum but the not entirely smooth, slightly resistant surface calmed her. She had spent a lot of time tweaking the machine so it didn’t run hot which came in useful during Australian summers, but not in Bundaberg where it’s almost exactly the same temperature every day of the year.
